Description |
The home of John and Eliza Rice and their two children, also named John and Eliza, at 230 West Victoria Street, the northeast corner of Victoria and Bath streets. The house, by architect Thomas Nixon (1846-1919), was finished in January 1885 and noted as "the most elegant ever built in this county." A few years after Mr. Rice's death in 1897, the house was purchased by the Orena family and passed down to the James Rickard family. It appears to have been demolished around 1931. |
