Description |
Made for Dwight Murphy (1884-1968), one of Santa Barbara's most influential citizens of the early 20th century whose major contribution to Old Spanish Days Fiesta included the equestrian parade. Round skirt, covered in silver stars and crescent moons on tooled leather. Floral motif with horse heads on both jockeys swelled fork. Small silver horn. Pointed tapaderos with three silver conches on each side, with carved horse and rider. Heavy silver rope edge on cantle and front of fork. Small oval shaped conch like silver beading around edges center rig. |
