Description |
One of Clarence Mattei's best friends in Santa Barbara was newspaper publisher, "Reggie" Fernald. His father, Charles Fernald, was one of the city's leading citizens in the last half of the 19th century. After a short law career, Fernald became president of the Santa Barbara Morning Press, a position he held until the paper merged with Thomas Storke's Daily News to form today's Santa Barbara News-Press. |
